Òòṣà:
Òòşà is not a god.  Òòṣà spelled phonetically Ori ṣa, translated literally to the one whom your destiny maker has selected.  Òòşà are individuals selected by God with significant contributions to the Yorùbá people, they usually have extraordinary gifts.  Oriṣa such as Sango, the òòṣa of light and thunder, Eṣu the divine messenger, and ọṣun, the orisa of fertility.
The Òòṣà Ogun was a great warrior who brought iron to Yorùbland (he is the creator of civilization), he was a reluctant leader know for his creative and essence of destruction (Professor Wole Soyinka ) He is the Oriṣa of iron known for his creativity alongside his destructive nature because humans would always break the laws of nature; Ogun thus stands as the guardian to execute the repercussion of such actions. Disney’s Maleficent holds a lot of similarities to Ogun in character and will.
Òòşà are usually deity (a Latin word for divine nature), taken to heaven and became Òòşà; the closest we can compare them to in the English language are the Catholic Saints.  They are 400 plus 1 Òòṣà; many call Oloye Sunday Adeyemo Òòṣa because they see him as someone with divine power and courage that was sent by Eledumare (God) to fight for his people.

I feel all we have on this earth whether money, title, cars–what we have is just temporary, and it will all end. We can’t take it to heaven when we go.  The most important thing is to love our family and our people like ourselves.  We ought to leave a good legacy for our children and descendants so they can speak well of us. If we fail to leave a good story behind they will never remember us till the world ends.  I don’t think l am an Òòṣà; my name is Sunday Adeyemọ but people just call me òòṣà.  (Oloye Majasola Sunday Adeyemo Igboho)
